Color is a microconsciousness. Like our senses of taste and smell, color helps us to understand the world around us. It helps us survive as a species, and appreciate works of art.
We invited the colorfull Karla Braga to help you add more colours to your lives.

Scientist would say: “Color is an effect produced on the eye and its associated nerves by light waves of different wavelength or frequency. Light transmitted from an object to the eye stimulates the different color cones of the retina, thus making possible perception of various colors in the object.”

I say: Color has a great emotional affection. Without our realizing it, color can have a profound effect on how we feel both mentally and physically. Below are associations that we tend to have with certain colors. These are important to keep in mind in order to create the mood you are seeking. I use a variety of colors – in make up, clothes, interiors, food, and most of all in my clubs.

To help you with coloring you life, I`ll guide you through the six most common colors: red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple.

Red

Red is regarded as a hot, warm colour and it symbolize a high energy. It is also a sign of warning, danger and error. It is also a symbol of love and passion. Red stimulates a faster heartbeat and breathing and is a powerful healing agent for healing diseases of the blood and circulation. It will help with depression. Red is not to be used on people with high blood pressure or anxiety. Red clothing gets noticed and increases slef-esteem of the wearer.

INTERESTING FACT: Superstitious Sims think red frightens the devil. It's considered good luck to tie a red bow on a new car, a baby`s wrist or on a plant.

ORANGE

Orange is a combination of yellow and red. Orange is considered a warm color like red, but to a lesser extent; orange expresses energy. It has luminous qualities and has been used for attention-getting purposes, such as on caution signs. Great color for parties and events.
Orange brings up memories of fall leaves, pumpkins and Halloween. It symbolizes balance, warmth, enthusiasm, vibrance, flamboyancy, and is demanding of attention.
Wear orange if you want to look friendly, cheerfull and ambitious.

Interesting fact: Orange has become a colour symbolising opposition around the world.

YELLOW

Cheerful sunny yellow is an attention getter. It represents joy, happiness, optimism, idealism, imagination, hope, sunshine and summer. While it is considered an optimistic color, it is also the most difficult color for the eye to take in, so it can be overpowering if overused. Yellow enhances concentration, hence its use for legal pads. Yellow is the color of intellect and it is used for mental stimulation, it will help you think quicker It also speeds metabolism.

GREEN

Green is one of most-often picked out favorite colors. It represents environment, health, good luck, renewal, vigor, spring, generosity, fertility, inexperience, misfortune. It is a calming, refreshing color. It is the easiest color on the eye and can improve vision.. Hospitals often use green because it relaxes patients.

When we think about nature – 99% of pictures in our heads are green-coloured.

BLUE

The color of the sky and the ocean, blue is one of the most popular colors. Blue represents peace, tranquility, trust, conservatism, security, cleanliness, loyalty, cold and technology.
It causes the opposite reaction as red. Peaceful, tranquil blue causes the body to produce calming chemicals, so it is often used in bedrooms. Blue can also be cold and depressing. Fashion consultants recommend wearing blue to job interviews because it symbolizes loyalty. People are more productive in blue rooms.

A blue blood is a person of noble descent. This is probably from the blue veins of the fair-complexioned aristocrats who first used this term.

PURPLE

The color of royalty, purple connotes luxury, wealth, and sophistication. It is also feminine and romantic. However, because it is rare in nature, purple can appear artificial. Purple is considered an exotic color. Today purple is a trendy color targeting creative types. Purple is also a color that will connect you with your spiritual self. It is good for mental and nervous problems.
